This past weekend, we had a picnic at our new pavilion. Pretty much all the MRF board members and their wives attended, along with three of the major donors who made the pavilion possible.
One of the board members smoked chicken and pork and then we had a corn roast. The food was amazing!
In spite of the pouring rain…
…it was a really nice evening. The pavilion did its job and kept everyone dry!
After the meal, the board president spoke. He reminded everyone that MRF exists because of prayer and that it’s been dedicated to the Lord. While fixing up the duplex, he and Brian found innumerable reasons why that house should have burned to the ground years ago – and yet there’s been no fires or major incidents here ever in the 50 years of existence. Why? Because it was given to the Lord and He sustains the work! So, we had a prayer of dedication, giving the pavilion and all it will be used for, back to the Lord. We closed by everyone singing accapella “To God Be The Glory” which just seemed so pertinent.
This Friday evening is the first MRF Banquet. We are looking forward to a great evening and praying there’s a great turnout.
