The c-section went much better this time for me. We used a nice clinic and the staff was amazing. My doctor is just wonderful and she knew how scared I was going in, so she took the time to talk with the anaesthesiologist and explained my fears and they took extra care with the whole procedure. I had a very nice room in the clinic and Elena was able to visit me each morning, returning home with friends who came to visit. Brian went home each night to be with Elena, but the staff was very helpful and I didn’t feel alone while he was gone. I was discharged Sunday afternoon.
Joseph is doing quite well, though we are having some issues with him being awake at night and sleeping all day! We’re pretty tired, but it’ll be okay. Just gotta get through the first few weeks. Elena is adapting well to her baby brother. She’s a little more grumpy and needy, but that’s to be expected. We are amazed, though – in some ways, she’s acting more grown-up, so maybe the baby is helping her see what a “big girl” she really is?
I’m healing well, but it’s a slow, painful process. Only being able to do stairs once a day limits me on my activity, but in a way, that’s a good thing. Brian has taken these first two weeks off and that’s a big, HUGE help. It would be impossible to handle Elena and the baby and recovery from a c-section without him being home all the time.
Thanks for all your prayers last week! God answered in big ways. We are very thankful for our little man and can’t wait for you all Stateside to meet him in December.
