Quiet Week

This week was a more quiet week than usual. Most of our co-workers went on a trip together. We made the decision to stay home, for various reasons. We used the week to catch up on projects, get ahead on stuff, and spend some much-needed time together. On Wednesday, we did our first of the Date Nights I had planned for Brian’s birthday gift: a game night!

We spent the evening playing our Wii - can you guess who won this game?!

Our favorite dessert - Chocolate Peanut Butter Bars - made with precious gifts of chocolate chips and peanut butter.

Brian got a bunch of work done around the campus and then took a day to work on doors for our cabinets. Elena has been getting into everything and since I don’t have drawers, some of the things she grabs is actually dangerous. We needed these doors, but Brian never has time to make them! So, he took a day and finally got them on. They look wonderful! And little hands will stay out since we can rubberband the doors closed. Phew!

Taking a Pepsi break...
Such a mess! We went out to Chinese that night. =)

Elena loves to help Daddy.
The rest of my finished kitchen cabinets.

Next event: Elena’s 1st birthday! Her birthday is September 29 but we’ll be doing a birthday party Friday, the 30th. It’s in the works – I’ve never planned anything this big before for a birthday so we’ll see how it goes! You’re all invited; just let us know when you fly in. =)
