Did we surprise you by not making the first picture in MONTHS a picture of a car and not of Elena?? 🙂 We wanted to make sure you saw how your prayers were answered in a different aspect of our lives. We’ve needed a car all year and it finally got fixed the week Elena was born – we actually used it to come home from the clinic. It’s not perfect and it’s REALLY small, but it gets us where we want to go and is just perfect for what we need.
Okay and now for….
Elena will be two months old this week. She’s growing like a little (pretty) weed and is beginning to smile and “talk”. She holds herself up well and hates being laid down – she’d much rather sit so she can look at the world. She’s sleeping like a rock star and is so much fun! Everyone here still calls her a little “muneca” (doll) and she’s smothered in love by all her Peruvian aunts and uncles.
We leave this coming Thursday (the 2nd) for the States! If you get our newsletter, you already know that. We’ll be in the States until March 2, 2011. We’re looking forward to spending Christmas with family, introducing Elena to all her extended family and our close friends, seeing snow, and eating some long-lost American food… like Subway and good ol’ American buffets! 🙂 We’ll be in PA with Lisa’s family for December, then heading out to South Dakota for about a month. We’ll be in Lancaster, PA, Vermont, Wisconsin, Iowa, and Minnesota in between all there as well. Please let us know if you’d like to see us!
Hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving! Lisa organized a special dinner and program for the Bible school on Thanksgiving day. It went really well and we’re excited to show some video of it during our presentations so be sure you don’t miss it!
