Merry Christmas!

We wanted to wish you all a very Merry Christmas and give you a quick update on our plans.

First of all, we are now down to needing only $180 a month!!! Praise the Lord! Also, our visa request has been officially submitted in Peru and we are now waiting to be accepted. This process takes 4-5 weeks when everything goes smoothly. But, the government takes a break for the holidays, so everything is closed right now. Which means instead of 4-5 weeks, it will probably take closer to 6 weeks for us to get our visas. Once they’re approved in Peru, we’ll have to go back to Jersey for the official stamp in our passports.

With the visas taking longer than expected, we have now bumped our travel plans to sometime in February. We will wait until we ge the actual visas so that we have them in hand when we go. This will make moving all around easier! Some of our support will not begin until February and we just found that out yesterday, so this works out WONDERFULLY. The Lord really did work things out in advance!

Since we have until February, we have decided to drive out the first week in January to South Dakota and visit family and friends for a week, one last time. We’ve had lots of unexpected “lasts” lately… it’s been really nice! Lisa will also get the chance to finish leading a ladies Bible study in January that she began in December. We’ll have more closure than we expected before we leave.

So, we wish you all a wonderful Christmas! We are so incredibly thankful for the birth of our Savior. Without Him, our lives would be meaningless. To Him alone be glory, forever and ever!
