Monday evening after our small group time, it was flurrying! My first thought was, “Yay! My last first snowfall for the next two years!” We really didn’t expect to wake up to this yesterday morning! It was like being back in South Dakota. We woke up to the sound of cracking limbs and falling trees and snow plows. Ah, the sounds of winter! We got a freak snowstorm that dumped over a foot of snow in 24 hours. Brian left for work at 6:30AM so he could help plow at the workplace. He plowed all morning (it snowed all day) and then before he came home, he had to fix the plow since someone else broke it that afternoon. The roads were a sheet of ice and we had no power at the house from 8:30AM til about 2:30PM and then it would blink and flinker all evening. It’s supposed to warm back up, though, so we don’t expect any of this to stay.
Oh well – for now, I’m enjoying our last first snowfall for the next couple of years. Hard to imagine that the coldest it’ll get in Peru is still 30 degrees warmer than freezing!!
